Role Play with Horses Helps Heal PTSD

May 11, 2018

Sean comes once a week to work either on brushing, grooming, or role playing, using the horses. He has severe PTSD and his therapist thought this would be good for him.

In his case, the horses represent certain people or incidents that have happened to him and being around them provides a safe way to emotionally process those incidents.

As of May 2018, we will be working on stress and being aware of certain triggers. Via role play, Sean has the freedom to say and act anyway he wants, and do it in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. The horses are empowering him to regain control of his life.
